ATHANASIOS AL. DIAMANTOPOULOS
Athanasios Diamantopoulos was born in Patra of Achaia in 1956. He graduated from Patra’s high school in 1974 and he was among the first to enter Law School of Athens University, where he graduated in 1978.
He accomplished his internship in Panagiotis Papapanos’ law office and after having successfully passed the exams of Patras Bar Association, he obtained his license to practice law.
For 40 consecutive years, he has been practicing Law successfully in Patra, by undertaking cases focused on Criminal and Civil Law, many of which were of general public interest (sensational trials) in Greece and abroad.
Since 1985, he is an elected member of Patras’ Bar Association Board. From 2007 to 2010 he was elected and served as Vice President of Patras’ Bar Association Board. In 2011 he was elected Chairmanof Patras' Bar Association Board.
He served as Prefect of Corfu during the preparatory phase for the European Union Summit. He has been elected a member and Chairman of the Board of Associations and Unions of Community Service in the Prefecture of Achaia (Vice President of the Society of Ex-prisoners and Child Protection, President of the Charitable Association “MERIMNA” for 5 years, Vice President of the Patras Therapeutic and Educational Center for People with disabilities, etc).
